Walk/Bike-athon 2026: Walking/Biking for Playgrounds

What is it?

Walk/Bike-a-thon ’26 is a is a community fundraising event to support the development of playground programs in two Meadville Parks: Shadybrook Park for K-4 grade students and Huidekoper Park for 5 - 8 grade students.

How does it work?

During the dates of March 21-April 24, every individual or team mile logged will be matched by a $1 donation.

Individuals and/or members of 30 teams can choose to walk in their own neighborhoods or choose to take a Saturday morning bus from the South Main Street Children’s Garden to one of the 6 trail heads on the Ernst Trail. At the completion of a guided walk, the bus will return everyone to the Children’s Garden.

Walk/Bike-a-thon ‘26 commitments will come in four forms; some folks will walk miles, some will bike miles, some will raise the matching dollars, and some will do it all!
